Basten products are constantly being checked, improved and adapted to the latest findings in fuel technology.
Because of its technical construction and the fact that it was developed in a wind tunnel, the Basten chimney cowl has all of the requirements well covered. The strongest of winds and all kinds of precipitation are kept away from the chimney outlet through the clever design.
In the wind tunnel at TÜV Deutschland
There are 70 years of developments between the first patented Basten chimney cowl and today’s Basten models.
Countless trials and test were carried out in wind tunnels until the Basten finally reached its outer shape and optimum properties.
Both TÜV Industrie Services GmbH in Munich (June 2012) and the Institute of Fluid Mechanics at the Technical University of Munich (April 2002) attest that “the Basten chimney cowl protects the flue pipe against backflows in all investigated wind directions and every conceivable wind incidence”.
